On Thursday, the Lady Tigers softball team played their season opener as they hosted the North Shelby Raiders. North Shelby got on the scoreboard 1st with a run in the top of the 1st inning, but Brashear took control of the game with a 5-run second inning and led the rest of the way in a 13-5 victory. Averi Acton had 3 hits for Brashear, Hannah Reeves, Alexa Higgins, and Hannah Grissom each had 2 hits, and Tanna Garlock also had a hit. Acton got the start on the mound pitching a complete game and striking out 11.
